Classes, units and lots
An asset class describes a kind of equipment. A unit is one item with its own tag; a lot is a counted quantity of identical items.
Check out and return
Scan a unit or lot in Compass to check it out to a person or project, and scan it again to return it. Each movement is written to the custody ledger, which can never be edited.
Maintenance and damage
Log maintenance to keep units fit for use, and report damage with photos. A unit under maintenance or damaged cannot be checked out.
